Bonuses, savings accounts for civil servants

SHAH ALAM: A half-month bonus was handed out to Selangor civil servants yesterday in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

All state government staff also further received RM200 which wil be deposited into a Lembaga Tabung Haji savings account for Muslims.

Non-Muslim staff will get the same amount in the form of Bank Simpanan Nasional premium savings certificates.

Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim handed out the bonuses to 20 representatives from various government departments at the state secretariat on Wednesday. Also present were state executive councillors and the state secretary Datuk Mohd Kushrin Munawi, who said RM20 million was allocated from the Selangorku funds for the bonuses.

“All 25,000 government staff, including local government officers, will receive the bonuses this month,” he said.

He added that the additional RM200 is not meant to be spent or withdrawn immediately, but to be invested for their future .
