Wangsa Baiduri park lighted up

Published: Fri, 13 Jul 2012

SUBANG JAYA: Three sets of floodlights were installed at the Wangsa Baiduri park recently to ensure the safety of residents exercising there in the late evenings.

“Before this, it was really dark and residents requested  the lights so that they can carry out their recreational activities at night,” said Subang Jaya assemblyperson Hannah Yeoh.

She pointed out that this was the only park which catered to thousands of residents around the area, including four condominium buildings and over 400 terrace houses. Altogether she spent RM19,820 from her state budget to light up the entire park and all the gazebos there.

One main floodlight will be on from 7pm-7am while the other two will only be on from 7pm to 10pm to save electricity.

“Keys to the main box switch have been given to the residents’ association there so that they can control the lights,” she said.

Meanwhile, MPSJ will be in charge of maintaining all lights at the park.
