KUALA LUMPUR: The new 2012 collection of Citizen watches which incorporate eco-drive technology was launched on Aug 8.
The environmentally-sustainable approach to watch-making allows watches to power up whenever they are exposed to light.
Embodying luxurious elegance, Citizen’s new line of watches for ladies, aptly named Citizen L, consists of three flagship models.
Combining a design inspired by the beauty of nature, these opulent timepieces reflect the dazzle and zest of the women who wear it.
Combining a pivotal bezel with 19 differently-sized diamonds embedded in it, the look is completed with a flower bud crown which evokes thoughts of nature.
Citizen’s Super Titanium series of watches for men presents innovative technology in a light and durable timepiece which resists scratches and prevents metal allergies.
“Super-Ti”, as it is affectionally known, has been worn in multiple print and television adverts by international Japanese superstar Takeshi Kaneshiro, Citizen’s ambassador.
Meanwhile, Citizen has collaborated with Toyota in honour of the carmaker’s new GT-86 sports coupe to produce the limited edition Citizen x Toyota 86 Eco-Drive watch.
The overall shape and design of Toyota’s GT-86 was inspired by Corolla Levin’s AE86 sports coupe, a legendary Japanese performance car from the 1980s.
A symphony of light, the Eco-Drive Nova is the result of years of research and development by Citizen to forge a harmony of expression between light and time.
Light rises from within the watch in a dazzling display of time, creating an eye-catching vibrancy with a subtle afterglow.
The Citizen L retails at RM5,350, while the “Super-Ti” is going for RM1,620, and the Citizen x Toyota 86 markets at RM1,580.
