KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians cheered as one at Samsung’s viewing party for national badminton player  Lee Chong Wei’s final showdown against his Chinese rival Lin Dan at the Laundry Bar in The Curve, Mutiara Damansara, on Aug 5.

Loud cheers (and groans) resounded throughout the match as supporters of the nation’s Olympic hero expressed pride in witnessing a fierce effort for the gold medal at the London Olympics.

“Chong Wei’s resilient determination throughout the match was inspirational. He exhibited excellent sportsmanship throughout the intense and close game,” said Samsung Malaysia Electronics Mobile Phone Division head Vincent Chong.

Chong added that he was proud to have Lee as a brand ambassador for Samsung.

In celebration of Lee’s inspiring sportsmanship, Samsung offered a 10 per cent discount for the Samsung Galaxy S3 on Wednesday. The one-day promotion was limited to one unit of the S3 per customer and was only available at 35 Samsung Elite Partner (SEP) brand shops nationwide.
