Here’s a show that’ll tickle your funny bone and give your vocal cords some melodies to hum to!

‘A Stud, A Babe & A Latte Boy’ is an original, funny, and fun musical comedy presented by The Actors Studio. The show will run from April 25 to 29 at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre and then from May 10 to 13 at the Penang Performing Arts Centre.

The show is a comedic musical revue featuring songs from Wicked, Spring Awakening, Singin’ In The Rain, Die Fledermaus, and Glee! The show will also feature an eclectic cast, starring Zoe Taylor (as Annie the babe), Lex Lakshman Balakrishnan (as Taylor the latte boy), Malik (as Felix), and Ching Eng Shen (as Roland the musical director).

The story primarily focuses on Annie, an Australian, who was described as “nice” in her yearbook.  The way others see her hurts her deeply but she has to agree that her life is bland and boring, and she is, in truth, a bit of a geek. She lives under the shadow of her parents who will never be happy with her until their own expectations of her are met. During the show, we see how Annie’s life takes a turn when she travels to Kuala Lumpur. It is here that she turns over a new leaf, improves her life, and new and exciting things begin to happen.

This geeky girl, who is the epitome of the ugly duckling, becomes a swan in a bar in Kuala Lumpur where the audience gets to witness her transformation of beauty. All this, of course, is done through songs and laughter!

Directed by Joe Hasham, this show is surely going to be great fun for all. Tickets are priced at RM43 for adults and RM23 for students. You can also buy tickets for a table of 4 for RM250 and enjoy a complimentary drink.

Visit www.klpac.org for further details of the show and to purchase tickets, or check out KLPAC’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TheKualaLumpurPerformingArtsCentre to stay updated.

From March 8 to 10, the first year students of the Department of Performance & Media at Sunway University presented ‘The Playlist’, a 45-minute devised theatre performance constructed by the students.
